Well I’m a little behind as you know.
We shot our engagements in the Swiss Alps…
And by Swiss Alps I mean Albion Basin up Little Cottonwood Canyon.
We wanted our pictures to be close to where we got married up at Snowbird.
Everything was in full bloom.
The wildflowers were every color of the rainbow, the trees and grass were an electric green.
It was breathtaking.
Our photographer found the spot, we had no idea what we were in for.
I just told her I wanted a beautiful outdoor backdrop, man did she follow through.
Utah has so many different beautiful places and they drastically change colors each season for an entirely different look.
It’s so fascinating to me.
I wanted to wear white in our engagements because I was the bride and duh.
So I went on Amazon and found a stunning off the shoulder white midi dress.
I may or may not have bought in black as well…
They’re beautiful and so fun to layer with jackets.
Comfortable, 100% cotton but it was kind of sheer.
So I had to find a seamless slip, which I also found on Amazon, for so cheap.
With the slip it was PERFECT.
I may or may not have bought the black slip as well…
They’re perfect for any of those summer dresses you have that are just that much too thin.
Here are the direct links to the dress and slip that I’m wearing.
The way the dress gaped off the shoulders was so romantic and it was great for the weather.
Not too formal, not too casual just a classic simple dress that I can look back on in years to come and still love.
That’s the thing with pictures you can tell how old they are by the wardrobe.
That dates things more than anything so if you want a classic photo do a classic cut.
I wanted a clean look without a lot of jewelry so I did a simple tear drop pearl earring and some classy tennis bracelets.
Here’s a tip married ladies: Wear your bracelets on your left hand.
It accentuates your ring adding the illusion that it’s bigger and has more sparkle.
For shoes I just wore my simple white pointed toe pumps.
Jamel was styled by my stylish best friend Shaun.
Men are surprisingly more difficult to dress in some occasions.
Dark jeans to bring in the casual aspect, a white button up shirt to match me and a dark black suit coat for contrast.
I LOVE this suit coat. It’s embossed with a waxed floral pattern.
Then a black, white and grey checkered tie.
Black dress shoes and a black watch.
We love the way that they turned out, they’re perfect.
And you all thought at this point that we weren’t married yet… jokes on you!
The entire time I was driving Jamel up the wall by singing, on the top of my lungs echoing through the canyon,
“THE HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC!!!!!”
Thank you to In Frames Photography for the beautiful pictures!
