After all of the planning, obsessing, stressing and excitement the big day finally happened.
You work so hard on the details, the perfect cohesive menu, the color palate, the decor, wardrobe, flowers and so much more.
All to celebrate your love to another person.
Jamel and I love old Hollywood glamour and wanted our style to be felt throughout the evening.
To have our guests feel as if they were in a glamorous fairy-tale.
We fortunately found all of that in our venue, The Old Meeting House.
The tall ceilings with gold chandeliers, white marble pillars, large floral arrangements, classic church pews and glass french doors that led out to an outdoor patio covered in twinkling lights.
It’s located on 4120 E Highland Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84124.
Our colors were black, white, gold and a deep rich burgundy.
They went perfectly with the venue.
They provided the cake and all of the catering with their in-house catering service.
The cake was three layers and two flavors.
The first was a rich buttercream white cake with coconut, walnuts and a dulce de leche cream inside.
The second was a classic white cake with raspberry filling.
The base of the cake was white decorated with white pearls.
Then hand painted cream and burgundy sugar flowers cascading down the side.
Then we added in gold leaves by the roses and then gold balls scattered on the sides of the flowers.
Our menu for the evening was:
– marinated teriyaki chicken & pineapple
– sweet & spicy meatballs
– skewered fruit kabobs
– An array of cheese with crackers
– caramel apples
– lemon meringue tartlets
– pumpkin pie tartlets
– lemon water
– champagne with black berries
– Stella Artois beer
White Roses, white Hydrangeas and large burgundy accents were throughout the bouquets.
Those were done by Lynette LaPoint of Big Day Vintage Decor.
They were absolutely breathtaking.
Black table cloths on the dining tables with gold sequined table cloths on the specialty tables which made it so Gatsby (thank you Bri).
Our floral centerpieces and the large vases were also provided by the venue.
We scattered gold painted pine-cones and hand painted gold leaves below the flowers to give a touch of fall.
The calligraphy signs/banners were done by my talented friends Lucy Bergstrom and Karli LaPoint.
For the menswear we wanted it to be formal and timeless so we went with a classic black tuxedo.
Everyone had a white, silk pocket square that I literally made at 11pm the night before.
The bridesmaids were in style sync with a chic black cocktail dress.
The shoulders and neckline being sheer accented by their chandelier earrings.
They all had black pointed toe heels, strapped at the ankle with a cluster of crystals and pearls on the toe.
When everyone in your bridal line looks good your wedding pictures and everyone involved feels beautiful.
Brides should want everyone to look and feel confident not downgrade their bridal line for their own sake.
My flower girls had beautiful white dresses with sheer necklines and large satin black bows at the waist.
The sheer neckline was so fluid through the line and it tied everything together.
My hair and make-up was done by the talented Erin Dockstader.
Dark eyes, a pink lip and the most beautiful french twist.
I loved my shoes. They are my favorite shoes that I’ve EVER bought.
They’re the same exact shoes Carrie Bradshaw wears on her wedding in Sex & The City but white instead of royal blue.
My white lace garters were to die for accented with pearls and crystal designs.
Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and Tony Bennett were playing all night long.
There were so many wonderful memories made that day.
So many laughs, so many great friends and so many family members involved to make this day the best day of our lives.
Everything was perfect, beautiful and all we felt was love.
For the second year in a row I shoved cake up my husband’s face.
It was the biggest and best one year anniversary present ever.
Thank you to everyone that was there to help celebrate with us.
We love you all so much and we hope that you enjoy the beautiful photos by In Frames Photography.
She captured every detail so that we can always look back and reminisce on this beautiful day.
Thank you again everyone and enjoy!
And they lived happily ever after…
