Well I did it!
I made it my goal to be in at least one large show this year!
It took months of sketching, sewing and planning but the results were beautiful.
I have wanted to do a bridal line ever since we got married this last year.
The dress that I made for my wedding was the foundation of the collection.
The starting point you could say.
Now I needed a message behind the collection.
I have always loved the song “I’m every woman” by Whitney Houston.
I love how the beat picks up like it would in a fashion show and I loved the message of the song.
The message being let’s be women who empower each other.
We’re every woman.
We still have a long way to go as women.
It’s 2016 and we don’t have equal pay with men?
We need to stand for the same message, lift each other up with encouragement and confidence.
Each dress had details from decades past.
It stood for the decades of women to get us to where we are now which is leaps and bounds further than what they had.
I showed 10 looks in the show last Thursday.
I actually made 12 but I was only allowed to show 10.
I wished I could have shown them all but not to worry I have shoots set up to showcase them all individually here on the blog.
I’ll post them soon as their own post so stay tuned.
Back to the show… I had a team from Paul Mitchell Provo that did hair and make-up for the models.
I wanted a sultry, sophisticated, sexy look.
A poppy pink lip, dark winged tip liner, dark brows, big long lashes and contouring.
The hair being curled, large and voluminous.
These were some of the pictures from my inspiration board that I sent to them.
Va va voom!
I styled all of the looks with pearls, crystals and beautiful veils that I also sell!
I am also obsessed with thick satin chokers… can’t get enough.
These pictures were snapped by the amazing Ryan Houston Photography.
He’s amazing and I’m forever grateful for these awesome images.
My cute daughter started the show all by herself and was so brave!
She did fabulous and yes we did go to build a bear for it haha.
A big thank you for my amazing team from Paul Mitchell, thank you to my models, thank you to the staff that put everything together and for my family and my husband for all of the support.
I love you all so much.
“Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”.
Satin trims, lace, large over-sized bows, ribbons, satin chokers and such a pretty collection.
Except for the flower girl dress and my wedding dress everything else is for sale.
I’ve priced them all under $300.00 right now!
If you or someone you know is looking for a beautiful handmade wedding dress to wear on their special day have them email me at MissMagelicutti.com to set up a fitting!
Stay tuned for the rest of the shoots to come with these dresses!
I’ve also signed up for a show coming up this summer! Cannot wait to share more details!
